It might be time to change/replace your printer's nozzle - this is how to do it
New nozzles can be purchased on Amazon and our Sculpto webshop.
- While the printer is turned off: rotate the middle rod until the printer arm is lifted - this will make it easier to change the nozzle.
- Turn on the printer.
- Remove the blue bowden coupling clip and remove the white hotend clip on the edge.
- Press down on the bowden coupling (round black part) and pull the tube out.
- Push down the hotend piece - can be a bit tough to push out, but be careful to not rip the wires.
- Take off the blue silicone.
- On the app: Go to "Printer" > "Settings" icon > "Change filament". This is to heat up the hotend.
- Follow the color codes and wait for the hotend to heat up.
- Grab the hotend block with a tool (pliers), that is not your hand. Warning: It gets very hot.
- Use a 7mm socket wrench - this is essential to remove the nozzle. Unscrew the nozzle and throw away the old nozzle.
- Install the new nozzle by screwing it on the the socket wrench.
- It should be tightened in a medium-hard way. There should be a small gap between the nozzle and heating block.
- On the app: Tap the X to cancel "Change filament". The hotend will then cool off.
- Wait for the hotend to cool to at least 30 C - it will be quicker if you hold the hotend near the fan under the arm.
- Put back the blue silicone cover - be careful to not rip the wires.
- Push back the hotend into place. Make sure the wires are tucked along the side of the arm.
- Reinsert the white tube. It should be pushed down as far as it can go while lifting the black bowden coupling.
- You want a few mm to be under the bowden coupling, so you can insert the blue clip underneath.
- Put back the white plastic piece on the edge of the printer arm.
